How to travel to Airdenair Guest House?

You can travel to Airdenair Guest House by bus, by taxi, by your own car. The location of Airdenair Guest House is at Edinburgh South, Prestonfield area, off the Dalkeith Road, close to Royal Commonwealth Pool and Edinburgh University.

Travel from Airport:

By Taxi: it takes around 30 mins by taxi from Edinburgh Airport. The taxi fare is around ?25-28.

By Bus:

  • You can take Airlink 100 or Tram from Airport to city centre, then take bus No.2, 14, 30, 33 to East Mayfield on Dalkeith Road (2nd stop after Royal Commonwealth Pool) and walk through Kilmaurs Terrace to the guest house.

Go to Airport by Skylink 300

walk through Kilmaurs Terrace (turn right) -> Dalkeith Road (cross road) -> East Mayfield Road -> Mayfield Gardens


Travel from City Centre / Waverley Station:

By Bus: Take bus No.2, 14, 30, 33 to East Mayfield on Dalkeith Road (3 stops after Royal Commonwealth Pool) and walk through Kilmaurs Terrace to the guest house. It takes about 10-15 mins to arrive.


Travel by Car:

Parking at Airdenair Guest House

On-street parking is available around Airdenair Guest House. But there are some parking restrictions and permit only areas may need your attention.

All unmarked streets (i.e. no line drawn) are FREE to park. Residents permit holder only parking areas (with dashed line) are operating between 9:30am to 11:00am (1.5 hours) weekdays. Weekend is free to park everywhere around.

Airdenair Guest House location

It suggests that you can park your car anywhere (except double yellow lines) after 11am until 9:30 next morning on weekdays and the entire weekends. Before restricted hours, you may move your car to unmarked areas, for example in the evening which is easier to find a spot than in daytime.

For blue-badget holders: Your car is still restricted to park in permit-holder-only areas during the restricted hours. However, you are allowed to park your car at double yellow line at anytime as long as it is not obstructive to the traffic.
